Electronic Initiation and Surface Mining Blaster, Experienced
Scope:
- Full Time – Typically Monday thru Friday, however, overtime may be required
Duties include but not limited to:
- Participate in all safety meetings held while on site at customer facilities, conduct tailgate meetings daily
- Act as company representative
- Direct communication with Director of Operations and Customer Quarry Management
- Pre-use inspection of equipment daily
- Track and renew all county permits required for locations of operation
- Communication with Mechanics on equipment condition
- Preserve and utilize all provided Personal Protective Equipment provided, as well as radios and vehicles
Additional Responsibilities:
- Leads the blasting team in preparation of drill patterns for blasting based on loading instructions received from Supervisor-Blasting
- Organizes, directs, and implements safe practices for the blast crew to complete blast pattern loading. Ensures instructions are clearly communicated and understood by all members of the blast crew
- Complete loading and detonation of blast patterns in a productive manner to ensure timely, safe blasts in accordance with Company Policy and Procedures, and expected industry safeguards and standards
- Provision of timely and complete reports to Blasting Supervisor including reports for: production, planning, equipment damage, injury, supplies, status of inventory ordering, and outcomes of blasts
- Assists in the evaluation of preliminary blast schedules and prepares general conditions reports
